The Ide D.C. Odenigbo Foundation unites people who share Ide D.C. Odenigbo's belief in learning, service, and community — supporting disadvantaged but talented youth through scholarships, empowering women, and rebuilding community infrastructure.
Established in memory of Ide Dominic Chinyelu Odenigbo (1929–2006) — teacher, Permanent Secretary, and Ide of Umudioka & Idemili — the Foundation provides a forum where people who share his vision can join forces to support a learning culture and recognise disadvantaged but talented youth.
Tuition, uniforms and exam fees for talented but disadvantaged secondary, primary and nursery students, awarded every academic year since 2016.

Born on 4 February 1929, Ide Dominic Chinyelu Odenigbo trained as a teacher at St Charles Teachers' College before rising through the Nigerian Civil Service to become Permanent Secretary, retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. A member of the St Vincent de Paul Society, he championed education access — especially for girls — until his passing on 20 November 2006.

The IDE DC Odenigbo Foundation has empowered 33 women from Umudioka with a total of ₦12 million under its 4th edition business grant initiative. Beneficiaries were selected across all villages in Umudioka and received funds to expand existing businesses or start new ones. The women expressed appreciation and offered prayers for the Foundation in recognition of the support.

The 3rd edition of the women's empowerment initiative distributed ₦7,000,000 in business grants — 33 women received ₦200,000 each and 4 returning recipients received ₦100,000 each, selected across all villages in Umudioka.

14 solar-powered streetlights were installed at a cost of ₦1,889,000, improving safety for market traders and residents after dark.
